I always used Dunlaps tires, and decided to try out MICHELIN Scorchers, and I was impressed and convinced that I was getting more tire for the money spent. Not only do I have 16000 miles on the tires, the tread wear appears as if I can go another 10000 miles before replacement. I was at my local HD dealership who was interested in selling me a set set of tires, ended up asking me what did I do to keep the tires lasting so long. I maintain proper tire pressure on every vehicle I operate but never have I gotten this kind of miles out of a motorcycle tire. I found the tire to be very quiet, and handles very well during turns and fast braking.

What I am most impressed with is the handling in the rain. I have been caught in many rain falls from very light rain that makes the pavement more slippery to downpours that obscured my vision. Not once did these tire make me feel insecure. They really gripped the road. I have to friends who thought I was crazy for running 70mph during a downpour of rain but when I told them how the Michelin Scorcher felt as if they become glued to the road, stop very well, and allowed the same amount of torque to the rear end, they both purchased the same tires and are still thanking me. I will continue to pack miles on these tires and after the season is over, if the treads are still looking this good Daytona Beach here I come. These tires allowed me to increase my lean angle when going into curves, I completed The Tail of the Dragon in 20 on a full dresser, I impressed myself thanks to having solid tires. When I replace these tire, I will be getting the same make and model tires.

I have been riding for over 40 years and have used just about every brand of street tire available. I currently own 4 Harleys and use Michelin tires on all of them. They all have performance upgrades with the Street Glide dyno’ing at over 104hp. I’m usually lucky to get 5k miles out of a back tire. I do ride HARD and FAST so that is to be expected. I recently installed a Scorcher on the front and rear of my Glide and am extremely happy with the performance and wear. I’ve got over 2500 miles on the tires and they are both wearing very slowly. I think I might get over 8k on the rear tire which in my book is outstanding. Here in Louisiana the weather changes in a heartbeat and these tires grip the road in all conditions. I highly recommend these tires. You definitely get what you pay for.
