Soon after my Vstrom arrived a few handle bars were tried as the OE bars seemed stolen from a HD Sportster. A real set of Norton bars fixed that and still gave hand guard clearance. The OE windshield liked to gather water and spit it back on me. Wound up cutting off the top flip-up and found it fine then. Much research with suspension resulted in magic handling. By then any off-road pretenses were discarded, along with OE pipes, etc. My first set of Pilot Roads went on followed by thousands of miles of back road traveling. A track day pace was possible with this set up. Curvy bits could now be ripped up like a TZ250. Well nearly. We get big distances from tires here due to cool roads and nit-picking pressures. I think I got 12 thou from the Pilots and 14 from the Pilot 2s. Did you get that Vstroms are light as well? No doubt not carting 600 pounds of steel all over helped a lot. Sure was fun watching all the superbikes cranked over, while considering passing most of them. Didn`t want to spoil their big moments, or partake in the clip-on and no leg room issues. Thank you Michelin. Couldn`t imagine better tires.
